Itinerary

Your journey for Tibet will start with a scenic drive from Kathmandu, passing through lush hills, rivers, and local villages. The road winds through the Langtang National Park, offering glimpses of diverse flora and fauna. Upon reaching the Nepal-Tibet border at Kyirong, complete immigration formalities and enter Tibet.

Depart from Kyirong and begin your drive towards Shegar, also known as New Tingri. Along the way, marvel at the dramatic landscapes of the Tibetan plateau, with expansive grasslands, rugged mountain ranges, and crystal-clear skies. and cross high-altitude passes such as Gungthang La Pass (5,200 m), which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, Pass by Peiku Tso, a stunning alpine lake, a great view of Shishapangma.On the way before reaching old Tingri, if the weather is clear, you can also get a great view of Mt Everest in the distance. Arrive in Shegar in the afternoon, where you’ll acclimatize to the altitude.

Start your day with an early morning drive from Shegar, crossing the Pangla Pass (5,000 m). From the top of the pass, enjoy panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range, including Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyu, and Shishapangma. Continue the drive to Everest Base Camp, arriving in Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery. Spend time at Everest Base Camp, taking in the grandeur of the world’s tallest peak and the surrounding breathtaking scenery. After exploring, return to Shegar for the night.

Depart from Shegar in the morning and drive to Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet. Visit Tashi Lhunpo Monastery, the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama, where you can explore its grand chapels and the impressive statue of Maitreya Buddha. After the visit, continue the drive to Gyantse, passing through rolling hills and open landscapes. Upon arrival in Gyantse, check into your hotel for the night.
