Ramdung Peak (5925m) is one of the popular trekking peaks in Rolwaling region of Nepal. Ramdung peak is also known as Ramdung-Go. The Ramdung Peak is situated in the borders of Khumbu and Rolwaling valley in the eastern side of Nepal. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu.
After an early breakfast at hotel, our trekking guide will pick you from hotel and drive towards Jiri by a private jeep or bus to Gongar Khola. Drive to Gongar Khola from Kathmandu will take about eight hours through rough road. During the driving journey, you’ll have great views of surrounding natural wonders including the daily activities of local people for their survival while we drive over the zigzag hilly roads passing through several local villages and towns. Upon arrival in Gongar Khola, you’ll start first day of trekking to Simi Gaon through suspension bridges, thick jungles, and small tea shops. Overnight in Simigaon.
After breakfast at camp, today you’ll trek to Dongang. As you move, you will be passing through a few Sherpa settlements and if you have the clear sunny day you will have an incredible view of Gaurishankar (7134m) towering above the Rolwaling valley. The rocky trail passes through a wooded ridge followed by dense pine forests with plenty flora and fauna as you descend to Rolwaling River and reaching Dongang.
After breakfast at camp, today you’ll trek to Beding. The trail to Beding will start with ascending uphill through rhododendron forests and keeping the Rolwaling River to your side, you move further up into the deep valleys of this region. Mount Gaurishankar (7134m) will keep companying until you reach a flat terrain with terraced faming. Crossing this you will enter a beautiful Sherpa village called Beding situated right next to the river.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll start your today’s trek with going up next to the river and then takes you to Yalung glacier. This open space has some livestock grazing in its fields and other flora and fauna can be witnessed too. With panoramic views of the mountains in front of you, you’ll reach the Sherpa village of Na. It is also one of the oldest known settlements in this region of the country.
Today is full free to rest and acclimatize in Na. You can o explore around Na village. There are several good day hike options that Na has to offer to its visitors. You can either head up the valley to a small Kharka or follow the trail to Yalung Peak Base Camp which is five hours return trip. Or, you can climb to the end of Tsho Rolpa Lake for the views of Kang Nachago above Na which takes four hours for a return trip.
After breakfast at camp, today you’ll head towards Ramdung Peak. You’ll trek to Ramdung Base Camp today which is located at 5000-meter high from sea level. The trail to base camp will lead you on the snowy path which will take around 5 hours. The trek offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and already makes you ecstatic with the thought of summiting the Ramdung. You will also get views of the surrounding glaciers like Yalung, Trakarding and Ramdung glaciers.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll ascend to Ramdung La pass (5665m) which offers enchanting views of the panoramic mountain ranges. As you reach the High camp, you will be briefed by the guides on the do and don’t on the climb to the peak.
Today you’ll get up very early morning and will start to your way to summit of Ramdung Peak. Ascending up to steep rocky platform you will reach the top. A strenuous walk, once you reach the top you will witness an absolutely beautiful view of Everest (8848.86m), Gaurishankar (7134m), Melungtse (7181m), numerous other mountain ranges and a lot of glaciers. The accomplishment of climbing this peak will leave you with a feeling of overwhelming joy. After taking some pictures, you will start your descend to beautiful Tso Rolpa which is a beautiful high altitude glacial lake and also gives a wonderful view of the Langtang Himal (7227m), Pachermo Himal (6273m). During the night time, you will be able to see beautiful stars in the sky and is a perfect time for astrophotography.
After successful summit of Ramdung Peak, today you’ll move further towards Khumbu region. Your today’s trek starts with early because your trail leads through the crossing of the glacier which is best before the sun gets stronger. You’ll cross the plateau to the further eastern corner above the glacier before descending a loose earth trail towards the southern edge of Trakarding Glacier. From here the trail climbs up to reach the northern side of the glacier. Once on the north side, you’ll follow the trail that leads to the snout of Drolambu Glacier.
After early breakfast, you’ll start your trek to Tashi Lapsa Phedi. Following the trail that goes over the glacier, you will climb a natural ramp that heads for the crossing of the pass. The pass is a rocky ridge often snow-covered and icy. We will have magnificent views of surrounding peaks from the top of the pass. We will make a gradual descent from the top to reach the Tashi Lapcha Phedi.
After early breakfast, you’ll cross Tashi Laptsa Pass today. You will trek towards the height of the Tashi Lapcha. The trekking will continue for about 5 to 6 hours through the main trekking trail to reach at the Tashi Lapcha pass at the altitude of 5755m above sea level. After the pass, you’ll descend to Thengbo viewing the wonderful view of the surrounding.
After breakfast today you’ll trek to Namche following an easy two-hour trail towards Thame first. From Thame, you’ll walk the trail along Bhote Khosi River. Descending gently towards Phunki Tenga, you’ll continue on our route by crossing a bridge over Dudh Koshi. Passing through several villages and teahouses along the route finally reaches Namche Bazaar – The Sherpa Capital.
After breakfast at Namche, you’ll trek to Lukla, the gateway of Khumbu. The last day of our trek leads from Monjo, Phakding and then to Lukla. The trek will be pleasant, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring us to Lukla for our overnight stay. You can enjoy your last day with your trekking crew too at Lukla.
Depending on your flight time, you’ll walk to Lukla after breakfast. Then you’ll take short flight to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll transfer to hotel. And then you’ll have free to relax at hotel or explore around Kathmandu valley.
Today is fully free day in Kathmandu. Either you can relax at hotel, do your shopping for souvenirs or can visit world heritages sites of Kathmandu. In the evening, Trekking Experts will organize a farewell dinner at typical Nepalese restaurant.
