Chulu East Peak Climbing trip with Trekking Experts begins with about eight hours drive to Jagat from Kathmandu. Trip to Chulu East Peak follows the traditional and most popular Annapurna Circuit Trekking route till Manang which beautiful landscapes, views and typical villages on the way. The trail to Manang valley offers the views of snowy peaks, lush green forests, beautiful landscape and villages like Manang and nature. Trekking in the Marshyangdi river valley is wonderful variety of landscape and culture with its its terraced fields and villages of ethnic Gurung people and crossing rhododendron and pine forests you’ll reach the upper valley, where Manangba people live. You’ll branch off the Annapurna Circuit Trail at Pisang, into an uninhabited region and follow a ridge through pine forests, yak pastures, Mani walls toward the Chulu East Base Camp located in the moraines below the col in the ridge separating the East and Far East peaks.

Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu. Dinner will be booked at the hotel.
After earlier breakfast in Kathmandu, you’ll drive to Besi Sahar. The journey starts with drive to Besisahar and again drive to Bulbule by local transportation. The route along to the Prithwi highway; from Dumre you’ll divert to off the highway at the bustling town of Dumre and continue for a further one and half hours to Besisahar. After lunch at Besi Sahar you’ll drive to Jagat.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll we begin your journey along the Marsyangdi river after a steep climb we enter the vicinity of Manang region at the village named Tal. At Tal, you can see several waterfalls forming a river by the sandy beaches. You’ll follow trail through barley, rice and potato fields and pass through the village of Koto which is one of the biggest villages in the Manang valley. You’ll cross a suspension bridge, and after a short climb of the stone Kani and then you’ll reach Dharapani. Upon arrival at Dharapani, you’ll check-in at lodge.
After breakfast at lodge, today you’ll follow the trail through forest with pine , fir, oak and maple trees along the Marsyangdi river to reach Chame, district headquarter of Manang district. Chame is surrounded by the green forest around and you'll see remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m).
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll walk through a steep and narrow valley today. During the trek you can have your first view of a massive wall of rock that is considered very sacred to the local people, Paungda Danda rock face, a curved rock face rising 1500m from the river. From here, you can also see clear views of Annapurna II at the south and Pisang Peak at the north east. Next, you’ll descend to the Manang Valley.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Manang today. The trail follows upper trail through upper Pisang via Geru, you can choose this trail as it offers outstanding views of north face Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho and Pisang Peak. As you ascend you’ll feel air turn cold, dry and harsher. The trail goes through Tibetan settlement and you get a chance to explore Buddhist culture in a short visit to Braga Monastery, largest in Manang.
Today you’ve full day to explore around Manang and rest there. In order to your body to acclimatize you’ll spend this day exploring around Manang. Early morning you’ll hike up to Gangapurna Lake and Base Camp spend the day admiring Annapurna III, Tilicho, Pisang and Chulu Peaks ,roam around Manang Village and Monasteries. In the afternoon you may visit the Himalayan Rescue Association in Vraja village where we will be briefed about acute Mountain Sickness., its symptoms and preventions.
After breakfast at lodge, today you’ll head further towards Thorong Pass. From Manang you’ll cross a stream and climb up to Tenki village then head out of Marshyangdi valley northwest up Jar Sang khola valley .the trail ascends slowly as we head northward. You will pass a few pastures and juniper trees . Following the trail you will pass though a small village called Gunsa with houses made of flat mud roof and then pass pastures with yaks and horses. After crossing a small river on a wooden bridge, you make your way up the spectacular valley to an open, peaceful meadow known as Yak Kharka.
After breakfast at lodge, today you will trek uphill towards Chulu East Peak. It will be very interesting as you will have gorgeous views on the surrounding mountains. You will trek for around five hours through the main trail till Chulu East Peak base camp. Upon arrival at base camp, your trekking crew will set camp at base camp as from today you’ll stay in tented camp.
Today, you will spend a day here to acclimatize and to prepare for the upcoming day tomorrow. You will make arrangement check your gear and will be given a demonstration of the do’s and don’ts. You will make small treks around the base camp with Annapurna massifs towering in the background. You will also be taking short hikes around the area to adjust better acclimatization.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll move further to higher camp today. After collecting and organizing your gears you will trek to further higher ground and get to witness a change in the terrain. This trek is a steep one and much caution is advised. Camp will be set at a place which allows easy access to your climb tomorrow. The sunset is going to be one of the most mesmerizing ones in the journey as the sun slowly disappears beyond the magnificent Himalayan ranges.
After very early morning breakfast at camp, today you’ll head for summit push. You will be walking on trails that open up to a snowy ridge. You will get a panoramic view of the Himalayas including Annapurna massif, Dhaulagiri (8167m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and the Manang valley on the grounds below. Getting to this point is truly rewarding after the strenuous journey that you have made. After the successful summit, you will have some time to take some beautiful photographs and make your way down to the base camp.
This day is kept as a backup so as to make sure that you can have an alternative day for the climb if you are not able to make the climb on the summit day due to any unforeseen reason. If you made successful summit yesterday, today you’ll trek to down to Yak Kharka and rest day Yak Kharka.
If you made successful summit on day 12, then you have fully free day at relax and rest in Yak Kharka. But due to any unforeseen reason, you had to attempt on day 13, today you’ll trek to down to Yak Kharka.
After breakfast at lodge, today you’ll trek to Thorong Phedi today. You’ll walk up increasingly steep trails as you head high up the valley. The walking becomes a little harder with each hour and so you must take your time, rest often and continue to properly manage your altitude acclimatization. The end of your day’s walk brings you to the head of the valley and the little trekking settlement of Thorong Phedi.
After early breakfast at lodge, today you’ll trek the most challenging part of this trip. You will cross Thorong La pass (5416m), one of the highest passes in the world, and the highest point of the trek. You need to wake up at very early morning complete this challenge. You need to push yoursef through the icy air, and high altitude but the view from the pass will make it totally worth it. You will see a panorama of majestic Himalayan peaks extending northwards into Tibet; at the back we can see several of the main peaks of Annapurna. After panoramic views from Thorong Pass, you’ll descend all the way to Muktinath; a sacred place for both Hindus and Buddhists. The Buddhists call it Chumig Gyatsa, which in Tibetan means "Hundred Waters".
After breakfast you’ll visit Muktinath temple before continuing our journey to Jomsom.
After earlier morning breakfast your trekking staff will take you to the Jomsom airstrip. And you’ll do farewell to the trekking staff. And you’ll fly to Pokhara. From Pokhara again you’ll catch connecting to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be picked up from airport and transfer to hotel. You’ll free time after check-in hotel.
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our city tour guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colorful markets. With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you on your first day so will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time. The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit: - Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva; - One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares, a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city. - Boudhnnanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centred on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora. And after tour back to hotel. Evening farewell dinner at local authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Hotel
