After breakfast at hotel, you’ll be picked up from hotel and will drive to Chitwan National park. You’ll drive to 175 kilometers south of Kathmandu in the flat plain. About six hours’ drive to Chitwan follows the Trishuli river. Upon arrival at hotel, you will check-in at hotel and will be briefed about your tour plan for the days and nest days. After lunch you can stroll around the bank of Rapti River. You will then visit the observation tower to watch the hypnotic view of sunset which is regarded as the best part of the day. Finally, to end your day with entertainment, Tharu ethnic group will perform a cultural program reflecting the tribal dance of Chitwan.
Today you’ll explore around Chitwan National Park. You will go for canoe ride along the Rapti River in the western side of the national park after having breakfast. There, you will see a variety of bird species and also get a closer view of two rare species of crocodiles - Marsh Mugger and Gharial. Then you will return to hotel for lunch and then go back for elephant safari where you will mount on an elephant that walks through the dense forest as you look around to observe one horned rhino, different types of deer, rhesus monkeys, peacocks, wild boars, and if you are lucky enough, you can come across Royal Bengal tiger. You can also enjoy the elephant bathing in the river, which is something we will not want to miss. You will also visit the elephant breeding center in the evening.
Early in the morning, after having a cup of tea/coffee, you will go to the Beeshazari Lake, which is also a Ramsar site, for bird watching. There you will get to see a wide range of bird species, especially water birds. This is worthwhile for passionate photographers and bird watchers. Then, you will come back hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu following the same route.
