Tilicho Peak (7134m) is one of beautiful 7000-meters peak in Nepal situated in Annapurna region. Tilicho Peak is situated at the north of Manang in Annapurna region. Tilicho Peak is lying between the range of Khangsar Kang (7558m) and Nilgiri North (7061m). From the peak, you will be rewarded with views over Tilicho Lake (4920m) located at the base of the peak and is the highest lake in the world with its aqua-blue water. From the summit, you can see the huge massifs of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, as well as down to the deepest gorge in the world, Kali Gandaki Gorge. Tilicho Peak Expedition with Trekking Experts begins with eight hours’ drive to Jagat and from there trekking to base camp of Tilicho Peak following the most popular Annapurna Circuit trail. The trail to Tilicho Peak follows the Annapurna Circuit Trail up the beautiful Marsyangdi valley to the villages of Manang and Khansar and world’s highest glacial lake; The Tilicho Lake. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu.
Today you’ll visit around Kathmandu at the same time Trekking Experts will be preparing for climbing. One of you who will randomly picked as the Team Leader in the group needs to visit Department of Tourism for permit formalities. It will be just for about an hour only. And you can continue your tour around Kathmandu. There are several world heritage sites in Kathmandu and you can visit three among them. Most probably you’ll visit Boudanath, Pashupatinath and Bhaktapur Durbar Square.
After earlier breakfast in Kathmandu, you’ll drive to Besi Sahar. The journey starts with drive to Besisahar and again drive to Bulbule by local transportation. The route along to the Prithwi highway; from Dumre you’ll divert to off the highway at the bustling town of Dumre and continue for a further one and half hours to Besisahar. After lunch at Besi Sahar you’ll drive to Jagat.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll we begin your journey along the Marsyangdi river after a steep climb we enter the vicinity of Manang region at the village named Tal. At Tal, you can see several waterfalls forming a river by the sandy beaches. You’ll follow trail through barley, rice and potato fields and pass through the village of Koto which is one of the biggest villages in the Manang valley. You’ll cross a suspension bridge, and after a short climb of the stone Kani and then you’ll reach Dharapani. Upon arrival at Dharapani, you’ll check-in at lodge.
After breakfast at lodge, today you’ll follow the trail through forest with pine , fir, oak and maple trees along the Marsyangdi river to reach Chame, district headquarter of Manang district. Chame is surrounded by the green forest around and you'll see remarkable views of Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, and Annapurna IV (7,525m).
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll walk through a steep and narrow valley today. During the trek you can have your first view of a massive wall of rock that is considered very sacred to the local people, Paungda Danda rock face, a curved rock face rising 1500m from the river. From here, you can also see clear views of Annapurna II at the south and Pisang Peak at the north east. Next, you’ll descend to the Manang Valley.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Manang today. The trail follows upper trail through upper Pisang via Geru, you can choose this trail as it offers outstanding views of north face Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho and Pisang Peak. As you ascend you’ll feel air turn cold, dry and harsher. The trail goes through Tibetan settlement and you get a chance to explore Buddhist culture in a short visit to Braga Monastery, largest in Manang.
Today you’ve full day to explore around Manang and rest there. In order to your body to acclimatize you’ll spend this day exploring around Manang. Early morning you’ll hike up to Gangapurna Lake and Base Camp spend the day admiring Annapurna III, Tilicho, Pisang and Chulu Peaks ,roam around Manang Village and Monasteries. In the afternoon you may visit the Himalayan Rescue Association in Vraja village where we will be briefed about acute Mountain Sickness., its symptoms and preventions.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll leave and follow the trail that demands elevation all the way up to Khangsar. During your trek, you’ll be rewarded with good views of Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Chulu West Peak, Chulu East Peak, Chulu Far East Peak and Tilicho Peak. You will cross over the Khangsar Khola Bridge to reach Khangsar village.
After breakfast at lodge, today you will leave Khangsar and follow the trail that goes over through various ice lakes and glaciers to reach Tilicho Base Camp. During your trek today, you’ll have more chances of spotting wild animals such as Blue Sheep, Himalayan Thar and several species of birds. There are tea houses at Tilicho Peak Base Camp, where you will spend our overnight before climbing Tilicho Peak. Your climbing guide and crew will make preparations for further climbing
We have estimated 15 days to climb Tilicho Peak. During 15 days, you will spend several days doing climbing training practices and spend adequate days for acclimatization. Our climbing guide crew will do all the hard works from carrying and setting up additional camps above base camp, provide hygienic meals during our climbing days and finding an appropriate route to the summit. Properly equipped with all the climbing gears you will follow the guidance and footsteps of our experienced climbing guides. Overcoming several technical climbing sections and taking weather conditions into consideration you’ll head towards the summit of Tilicho Peak. Once at the summit you will be rewarded with great views of major peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalayan ranges - Lamjung Himal, Annapurna II, Annapurna IV, Annapurna III, Gangapurna, World's Deepest Gorge ' Kali Gandaki Valley' and serene cobalt blue - Tilicho Lake. You will spend short and quality at the summit before descending down following the same route back to base camp.
After successful summit of Tilicho Peak, today you’ll trek back to Khangsar by retracing your own steps
After breakfast at loge, you’ll trek to Pisang today. You’ll follow the same route that you’d already.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Bagarchhap today following the same trail that heads through Dhukur Pokhari and descends from there to cross a suspension bridge. You will cross the river and trek along the banks of the Marsyangdi River to reach Chamje. From Chamje, You’ll continue our trek passing through Koto village before arriving at Bagarchhap.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll do your last trekking to Syange today. You’ll follow the trail that descends gradually towards Dharapani. The trail continues passing through the village of Tal. From there a fairly moderate trek will bring you back to Syange.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll drive to Kathmandu today. You’ll take local jeep/bus there and drive to Bensi Sahar first following the bank of Marshyangdi River. From Bensi Sahar, you’ll have better air-conditioned vehicle for Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll check-in at hotel and then free time to relax at hotel.
Today is your last day in Nepal so prepare for departure, packing and returning gear. A massage is highly recommended to relax your tired muscles before your long haul flight home. Tour leader of the trip visits Department of Tourism for some Government formalities after the trip as De-Briefing. In the evening you’ll have farewell dinner at local Nepalese restaurant with typical cultured dances.
Depending on your flight time, you’ll be transfer to airport before 3 hrs of flight time.
