Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek is a classical trekking route to the heart of Everest region which was used by the Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Edmund Hillary in their Mt. Everest expedition in 1953. It is one of the popular trekking trails in the world which offers the combination of natural and cultural beauty. This trekking provides the opportunity to the trekkers to explore the landscape of the whole Everest region, with the green forest with rare wild animals and birds, lush valleys with the spectacular view of the giant world tallest mountains. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu. Dinner will be booked at the hotel.

After early morning breakfast at hotel, you’ll drive to Jiri today. It will take about 8 to 9 hours by drive to reach Jiri with 188 kilometers.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll start your first of day walking. You’ll cross a stream the track leaves the road and starts to climb uphill through trees to several wooden tea houses at the tiny settlement of the route. You’ll keep climbing to the Mali Danda (2440m), from this place you can have good view of the peaks near Rolwaling, Khimti valley through the sparsely populated Sherpa settlement of Mali at 2220m and continue your way to the crossing of the Yelung Khola river at 1860m.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Bhandar today and will start with a steep ascent towards the pass at Deurali (2730m). On your way to this pass you will cross numerous streams and walk through the villages of Sangbadanda (2180m), Khasrubas (2330m) and Mahabhir (2590m). From Deurali pass you’ll steeply descent on stone steps through fields and pastures Bhandar village.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll start the trek with descending through the lower fields of the village, passing the small settlements of Doharpa and Baranda before crossing the Tharo Khola River on a steel bridge at 1480m. As you follow the east bank of the river we climb towards Kenja (1600m), a settlement inhabited by Newars and Magars. As you leave Kenja you’ll start to ascent steeply towards Chimbu (2170m) and continue on towards Sete.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Junbesi today. Today you’ll cross Lamjura Pass (3530m). In the spring season the way looks beautiful due to rhododendron, magnolia, maple and birch all over the Jungle. This section of the trail is also well known for spotting birds like sunbirds, minarets, flycatchers, laughing thrushes and many others. Lamjura Bhanjyang is the highest point on the trek between Jiri and Namche Bazaar and is marked by a tangle of stones, twigs and prayer flags. On the eastern side of the pass the route descents steeply for about 400m through fragrant fir and hemlock forests and then levels out passing the small village of Tragdobuk (2830m). Continuing your way down you will arrive in Junbesi.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll cross the Junbesi Khola (river) and then climb steeply uphill, contouring above the houses to the end of the ridge. From here you’ll have excellent views of Everest, Thamserku (6608m), Kantega (6779m) and Mera Peak (6654m). This is the first view of Everest on this trek, although the lower peaks in the foreground seem to dwarf the higher, more distant mountains. After passing the Ringmo River, the trail ascends to Ringmo village, with its abundant fruit orchards. Beyond Ringmo you’ll climb to the Taksindu La pass (3071m), where you can see the isolated monastery of Taksindu, a superb example of Sherpa architecture.

After breakfast at lodge, your journey today continues to the Dudh Kosi River and cross this river using a 109m long suspension bridge (1510m). Then you’ll climb out of the river valley through fields of barley, wheat and corn to the sprawling Rai village of Jubing (1680m). You’ll continue to climb up a ridge to a Sherpa village named Khari Khola (2010m).

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Chheplung today with a gentle climb to Kharte village and continues on through forests inhabited by monkeys. You’ll keep climbing the ridge till we reach the teashop on Khari La pass at 2840m. Moving continue from this place the trail descents into the deep canyon of Paiyan Khola. After crossing this river on a wooden bridge you’ll reach the small settlement of Paiyan village (2770m). Upwards again, you’ll slightly cross Chauri Kharka (Yak zone) to Cheplung scratching wonderful Mani Padhme walls.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Namche today. From Chheplung you will cross the Thado Kosi River on a local-style suspension bridge. Just past the bridge you can see the peak of Kusum Kangru (6367m), which is the most difficult of the so-called “trekking peaks”. Beyond the Thado Kosi the trail climbs a bit towards Ghat (2590m), you will cross a ridge marked with painted Mani Padhme stones and climb to Phakding village. Phakding is a famous camping place for who is flying from Kathmandu - Lukla. From Phakding you’ll follow the bank side of Dudh Kosi River. You’ll climb steeply over a rocky ridge towards Benkar (2710m). From here the trail continues alongside the river. All along this part of the trail, villages are interspersed with magnificent forests of rhododendron, magnolia and giant firs. In both the early autumn and late spring, the flowers on this portion of the trek make it a beautiful walk. You’ll cross the Kyashar Khola (river) and climb out of the valley to Monjo (2840m). Just beyond Monjo the trek enters the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, which was established in 1976 to protect an 1148 sq km area surrounding Mt Everest. Beyond the national park entrance station, the trail makes a steep rocky descent and crosses the Dhud Kosi River on a 120m-long suspension bridge towards Jorsale (2830m). After crossing this river a few times while climbing your way up the valley we will reach Namche Bazaar (3420m). Namche Bazaar is the main trading centre in this region and features numerous shops, hotels and restaurants.

This day you take a rest for acclimatization. Today you will take a day hike through the villages of Khunde and Khumjung. You’ll start with a steep one-hour climb to the Shyangboche airstrip (3790m). From this place you will slowly climb towards Khunde where numerous Chorten (stone Buddhist monuments) and descend to Namche.

As always after breakfast at the lodge, you’ll have a gentle walk through the forest with magnificent view of mountains. The great view of the mighty peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kongde peak with view of the eastern snow capped mountains. The trail leads uphill through the forested path and the hardly walk to get to Tengboche. One of the most beautiful place in the Himalaya and the first thing that comes to your eye is the big Monastery, then the large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam. You’ll have the chance to look around the monastery and the interesting visitor centre there and good view of the Everest/Lhotse massif but is also the classic viewpoint for Ama Dablam. Then will check-in at lodge.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll descend down from Tengboche, winding through the rhododendron forest to Deboche and crossing a bridge over the raging Imja Khol River. Hug the valley wall, and then traverse the plains to Dingboche, the start of the Imja Tse Valley. Dingboche is also the gateway to Chukung and farther beyond for the most challenging traverses towards Makalu area and Hinko Valley via Sherpani col 6100m and Amphu Laptsa pass 5780m. Then will check-in at lodge.

After taking morning breakfast, today you will rest in Dingboche for acclimatization. You may have full day rest or there are some places where you can go for a day walk like trek to Chhukung (4730m) is worthwhile which takes approximately 3-4 hours from Dingboche, towards east within the Imja Tse Valley, although the trek is gradual, however you can feel the thin air as the altitude gains slowly coming towards Chhukung. At Chhukung, there are few teahouses overlooking superb view of the snow capped peaks and glaciers after enjoy stroll back to Dingboche for overnight.

After breakfast, you’ll ascent the retrace our steps back to Pheriche before continuing along the trail up the broad valley bottom towards Dugla. Ahead of us is the trekking peak of Lobuje East (6119m), which is one of the objectives on our Khumbu Climber itinerary, and to your left is the formidable north face of Taweche, the scene of many cutting-edge Himalayan ascents of the 1980s and 1990s. After three hours you’ll reach the small collection of lodges at Dugla (4620m). You might choose to walk up to the Sherpa memorials, from where there are outstanding views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Taweche. From Dugla, the trail starts steeply to climb up beside the glacier moraine. After a few hours the track eventually leads to a small cluster of tea houses pleasantly situated at Lobuche (4940m). After reaching Lobuche, will check-in at lodge.

After breakfast you’ll continue our trek to Gorekshep in a windy and rocky path with the wonderful view of Mount Pumori, Mount Nuptse and other magnificent peaks. After check in at lodge & lunch, you will continue towards Kalpattar located at 5550m from the sea level. About 2 hrs ascent to Kalapattar (5550m), you shall have the wonderful views Mount Everest (8848m) infront and Mount Pumori, Mount Amadablam and other Khumbu mountain ranges. This small peak offers the best views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Pumori and Ama Dablam along with the entire mountain views of Khumbu Himalayan range. Being here for some hours, we hike down to Gorekshep. Overnight at lodge.

After breakfast, you’ll walk towards Everest Base Camp and to the Khumbu Ice-fall. The trail passes through over rocky dunes and moraine and streams, till you reach the base camp. In Everest Base Camp the climbers gather for summiting Everest during the high expedition season. You’ll explore base camp and its surroundings glacier and return back to Gorekshep for lunch. After lunch will trek back to Lobuche.

After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek down to Namche. First of all you’ll head down to Deboche, then to Tengboche. Then you will walk down hill towards the Phungithanka vis Tangboche and after crossing the suspension bridge over the Dudh Koshi river trek onwards to the Kyanjuma the junction of the trinity ways to Gokyo Valley, Khumjung village and Namche Bazzar. Then you’ll reach at Namche.

From Namche you’ll descent down to the Monjo village where you’ll have lunch. Then decent to Phakding and you’ll gradually walk to Lukla passing through the incredible mountain scenery and local Sherpa village. Arrival in Lukla and you'll have time to stroll around the areas and guide will re-confirm your flight ticket and enjoy the last celebrate dinner with your crew member and overnight at Hotel.

Depending on your flight time, you’ll walk to Lukla after breakfast. Then you’ll take short flight to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll transfer to hotel. And then you’ll have free to relax at hotel or explore around Kathmandu valley.

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our city tour guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colorful markets. With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you on your first day so will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time. The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit: - Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva; - One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares, a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city. - Boudhnnanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centered on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora. And after tour back to hotel. Evening farewell dinner at local authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Hotel
