Pokhara city is surrounded by beautiful green hills, lakes, villages and spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks. With the magnificent Annapurna range forming the backdrop and the serenity of three major lakes – Phewa, Rupa and Begnas, Pokhara is a city to relax and have fun. Pokhara is also hub for many sports and adventures. Pokhara is the starting point of many trekking routes such as trek to Annapurna Base Camp, trek to Mardi Himal, trek Ghorepani, Poonhill, Kopra Ridge, Sikless and many. Many outdoors activities such as boating, bungy Jumpa, Zip-Flying, Paragliding, Sky-Flight and rafting can be done in Pokhara.

 

In second section of the tour, you’ll visit beautiful Chitnwa National Park. Chitwan National Park is the first national park in Nepal which was founded in 1973 and in 1984 it was declared as World Heritage Site. It covers an area of 932 km and is located in the subtropical Inner Terai lowlands of south-central Nepal in Chitwan District. Chitwan is also known as best destination for jungle activities and exploration of flora and fauna. There are around 600 plant species, 56 mammal animals, 539 types of birds, 49 amphibians and reptiles, 412 Asian one-horned rhinoceros and 93 Royal Bengal Tigers in Chitwan National Park. Chitwan National Park is home for the many animals like wild boars, wild dogs, rhesus monkeys, wild cats, langurs, deer, leopards, gaur, many types of reptiles and snakes.

Itinerary

After an early breakfast at hotel, our trekking guide will pick you from hotel and drive towards Pokhara by a private air-conditioned vehicle. On your way, you can see the picturesque Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers along green and Rocky Mountains, rivers connecting each other and small springs too. It will take about six hours drive to reach Pokhara. You’ll stop on the way for lunch. Upon arrival in Pokhara, you’ll be checked-in at hotel and you’ll free time to relax at hotel or explore around Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful valley set on the banks of the Phewa and Begnas Lake, also known for its panoramic views of Annapurna (8,091m), Machapuchare (6,993m) in the north, Dhaulagiri (8,169m) in the west, Manaslu (8,156m) and Lamjung Himal (6,983) in the east. Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist's paradises with many facilities for travelers.

Very early morning today, you’ll be transferred to the view point Sarangkot which is located north of Pokhara at an elevation of 1590 meters from sea level. 45-minutes’ drive to Sarangkot will be worthy as you’ll have spectacular views of Mount Annapurna range in close, Machhapuchhre, Fewa Lake, Pokhara valley and whole Pokhara in panorama. After spending beautiful time there, you’ll drive back to hotel for breakfast. If you wake early morning to catch sunrise, it will be even amazing. After breakfast, you’ll visit Mahendra Cave, Bats’ Cave, Davis falls, Gupteswar Cave and International Mountain Museum. Mahendra Cave, Bat’s Cave and Gupteswor Caves are interesting part of the geological study. At International Mountain Museum, you’ll get summary of mountain history, climbing history, ethnic group of people and their culture.

After breakfast at hotel in Pokhara, today you’ll drive to Chitwan. An enjoyable and scenic five hours drive by car or private vehicle on the Prithvi highway connecting Chitwan with Kathmandu follows the Trishuli River takes you through the Tharu Villages of Chitwan . The ethnic tribe of the Tharu’s is the local inhabitants of Chitwan and is agriculturists by profession. Upon arrival at hotel, you will check-in at hotel and will be briefed about your tour plan for the days and nest days. After lunch you can stroll around the bank of Rapti River. You will then visit the observation tower to watch the hypnotic view of sunset which is regarded as the best part of the day. Finally, to end your day with entertainment, Tharu ethnic group will perform a cultural program reflecting the tribal dance of Chitwan.

Today you’ll explore around Chitwan National Park. You will go for canoe ride along the Rapti River in the western side of the national park after having breakfast. There, you will see a variety of bird species and also get a closer view of two rare species of crocodiles - Marsh Mugger and Gharial. Then you will return to hotel for lunch and then go back for elephant safari where you will mount on an elephant that walks through the dense forest as you look around to observe one horned rhino, different types of deer, rhesus monkeys, peacocks, wild boars, and if you are lucky enough, you can come across Royal Bengal tiger. You can also enjoy the elephant bathing in the river, which is something we will not want to miss. You will also visit the elephant breeding center in the evening.

Early in the morning, after having a cup of tea/coffee, you will go to the Beeshazari Lake, which is also a Ramsar site, for bird watching. There you will get to see a wide range of bird species, especially water birds. This is worthwhile for passionate photographers and bird watchers. Then, you will come back hotel and have breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll drive back to Kathmandu following the same route.
