Api Himal Base Camp Trek with Trekking Experts begins with flying to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu and then drive to Mahendranagar. Located in far west of Nepal, this trip is one of the most virgin treks which are still untouched by trekking areas. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu. Dinner will be booked at the hotel.
Kathmandu –Nepalgunj (alt. 520m)
After breakfast at hotel, you’ll drive towards Mahendranagar. After three to four hours drive you’ll reach Mahendranagar from Nepalgunj. And then you’ll continue your drive to Gokuleswar which will take another six hours’ drive. Once you arrive at Gokuleswar, we shall set up and overnight stay there.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll start your first day of trekking by very short trekking about 2-3 hours. You’ll trek through an area with picturesque peak view and striking landscape. Once you arrive Karkaule, you can explore around local areas.
After breakfast at camp, today you’ll to trek Chiureni and you’ll trek through stunning villages and farmlands. On the way, you will cross countless hanging bridges. In Nepali, Chiuri means butter tree. This place is famous for butter trees so the name comes after it. you will see many butter trees around your campsite.
After breakfast at camp, today you’ll trek Makarighat following the Chamliya Khola (river).
After breakfast at camp, you’ll start your journey ascending uphill up to 1200m. On the way you will see some villages and observe that settlements are very scattered. You’ll be able to see some mountain views you’re on trekking.
After breakfast at camp, your today’s trails goes up and move down again for about 2 hours then you will reach Lawathi. This is the last village of this trek and this place is known as Saheb Bagar. Many years ago, trekkers were staying at that place so local people started to call this place “Saheb Bagar”. From here trail goes to uphill and walk through dense jungle reaching Lawathi where you will spend your overnight.
After breakfast at camp, your journey today will be trekking in thick jungle. The trail goes tenderly up hill.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll trek to Dhali Odar first which will take about four hours’ walk in the green forest. And then you’ll continue further trekking to Api Himal base camp which will take another two hours of walking. From here you’ll see stunning view of Mount Api and holy lake Kali Ghunga.
Today is fully free to explore around Api Himal base camp and rest day.
After breakfast and having great sunrise view of Api Himal, you’ll descent to Lawathi today following the same way you’d trek to base camp.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll descent to Makarighat today following the same way you’d trekked.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll descent to Bitule Chaur today following the same way you’d trekked.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll do your last day of trekking to Gokuleswar following the same route.
After breakfast at camp, you’ll be picked up by local vehicle and drive to Mahendranagar.
After breakfast at hotel, you’ll drive to Nepalgunj. And you’ll take an hour fight to Kathmandu. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll receive by Trekking Experts’ representative and drop you to hotel.
After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our city tour guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colorful markets. With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you on your first day so will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time. The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit: - Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva; - One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares, a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city. - Boudhnnanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centered on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible, we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora. And after tour back to hotel. Evening farewell dinner at local authentic Nepalese restaurant. Overnight at Hotel
