Generally, it takes about nine weeks time to climb Mount Everest. But many people don’t have two months and more for climbing world’s highest peak. So, Trekking Experts offers you this special edition of climbing in speed which saves your valuable time. Spending nearly nine weeks (60+ days) of time in high altitude as preparation to accomplish goal of climbing Mount Everest was kind of hardship and time consuming. But, through this Everest Express Expedition, you’ll just spend less than three weeks in the mountain which will save your most valuable time and tolerance hardship in the mountain. Upon your arrival at the Tribhuvan airport Trekking Experts representative welcomes you and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time in Kathmandu to check all the climbing gears are in order.
Today early morning after breakfast, you’ll be transferred to airport and you’ll take a spectacular helicopter flight to Namche Bazzar. You can enjoy the scenic views of Langtang, Jugal ranges, Rolwaling Himal, Gaurisankar and Menlumtse before getting your first glimpse of Everest. From Namche, you can view clear view of Mount Everest and other mountains like Lhotse, Amadablam, Thamserku, Kantega and many snowy peaks. Namche is one of the most popular local markets for Sherpa people. You’ll spend tonight at Namche with 3440 meters from sea level for adjust with your pre-acclimatization. In the day, you can hike little higher to Syangboche airport, Khumjung village and Khunde villages to again little higher.
After first night at Namche, today you’ll trek to Pangboche which will again around 500 meter from first night. You’ll have a gentle walk through the forest with magnificent view of mountains. The great view of the mighty peaks of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kongde peak with view of the eastern snow capped mountains. The trail leads uphill through the forested path and the hardly walk to get to Tengboche. One of the most beautiful place in the Himalaya and the first thing that comes to your eye is the big Monastery, then the large field with campsites and teahouses, lodges beneath the towering majestic beautiful peak Ama Dablam. From Tengboche, you’ll trek further to Pangboche village which is located just in front of beautiful Amadablam (6812m) .
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek further towards Everest base camp following Pheriche and Dugla on the way. You’ll have gentle ascend to Pheriche and then continue up along the broad valley bottom towards Dugla. Ahead of you, you’ll see Lobuche East (6119m), which is one of the objectives on our Khumbu Climber itinerary, and to your left is the formidable north face of Taboche, the scene of many cutting-edge Himalayan ascents of the 1980s and 1990s. After three hours you’ll reach the small collection of lodges at Dugla (4620m). You might choose to walk up to the Sherpa memorials, from where there are outstanding views of Ama Dablam, Cholatse and Taweche. From Dugla, the trail starts steeply to climb up beside the glacier moraine. After a few hours the track eventually leads to a small cluster of tea houses pleasantly situated at Lobuche (4940m).
Once you’re at Lobuche, you’re already at high altitude place. You’ll spend whole day at Lobuche in order to digest high altitude in real ground. Today you can hike further to stretch your legs and again some altitude. Also you can separate your climbing gears for Everest and Lobuche because you’ll be climbing Lobuche Peak (6119m) as preparation and climbing practice. You’ll have knowledge of using climbing gears and climbing skills. You’ll be guided to use and climbing by our experienced climbing Sherpa guides.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll pack up your gears for Lobuche and will head towards Lobuche Peak towards southwest from Lobuche. Our climbing guides will set up high camp at around 5250 meters from sea level. And prepare for next days’ summit push.
After early morning breakfast at camp, today you will summit the Lobuche East Peak with the guidelines of your climbing guide. You will slowly climb the steep ascending trail crossing paths that require technical guidelines. Your guide will help you with the use of trekking gears. On summiting the peak, you will be rewarded with the mesmerizing views of the mountains like Mt. Everest (8848 m), Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Ama Dablam (6812m), Mt. Makalu (8463m) in the far distance. After spending some time there you will descend back to the base camp and then to Lobuche.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll trek to Everest Base Camp today. You’ll leave Lobuche and eventually cross the moraine of the great Khumbu Glacier to reach Everest Base Camp (5364 m), which lies beneath the sweeping ridges of Mt. Everest and Mt. Nuptse. For your convenience, our expedition team will have already set up camps at the base camp. Upon arrival at base camp, you’ll meet your High Altitude Climbing Sherpa guides and will explain about following days planning for climbing.
From day onwards, we have estimated about 10 days for climbing. During these days you’ll ascend to higher camps Camp II, Camp III and Camp IV. Since you’ll quite late then other climbers there, ladders in Khumbu Icefall and rope in the route will be already places. Depending on weather report, you’ll ascent up to summit and back to base camp. Tentative program during climbing period will be as follows: Day 09: Base Camp Set Up/Pooja Ceremony After spending first night at Base Camp, today you’ll start your daily routine of climbing period. Your climbing guide/High Altitude Sherpa will brief you about your next day’s schedule for attempts to Camp I, training at Icefall. Today we’ll set up base camp and conduct a Pooja Ceremony (worship/pray) for good luck of climbing. Day 10: Base Camp- Camp I (alt. 6400m) Today, after consulting with weather experts/reports, you’ll ascent to Camp I. Camp I is situated at a rather flat area where you will spend one night for acclimatization. Camp I have a deep fissure below and surrounded by mountain walls; glacial areas through which you will trek to reach Camp II. The crevasses beneath you, on one hand creates a deep murmuring sound especially audible at the night time but on the other hand, the mountain walls provide a warm sensation because of the sun’s reflection on the walls. Camp I is also an intermediate camp until Camp II is established. Day 11/12: Camp I -Camp II (alt. 6800m) Today, you’ll move further up to Camp II (6800m). Camp II is located at the base of the icy Mount Lhotse. It is a safe place indeed but sometimes the dark clouds from the lower Himalayan valleys create a not so favorable weather. It will be your bases before making summit. After communicating with base camp team and weather report, you’ll spend one extra at camp II before heading towards camp III. Day 13: Camp II -Camp III (alt. 7000m) Depending on weather report, your climbing guide will decide to move further to Camp III (7000m). From camp III, you’ll move further to Camp IV for summit push. From Camp III, oxygen will be used as air will thinner onwards. Camp III is adjoined to Mount Lhotse’s wall. Day 14/18: Camp III- Camp IV-Summit Everest (8848m)- Camp IV/III From Camp III, your target is to make summit of Mount Everest (8848m). First you’ll ascend to Camp IV (8400m) and rest there couple of hours and then make push for summit. Depending on the weather and physical condition of participants, your climbing guide will plan for summit. You’ll climb the Mount Lhotse’s wall by using fixed ropes and equipment to reach Camp IV (8400m). Camp IV is the last major camp before climbers make their summit push. It is the first perilous night of an adrenaline packed adventure. From this point, the Everest is about 500m away, but this is also the final and most dangerous part of the climbing. From Camp IV, climbers hike to The Balcony, at 8450 meter. It provides a podium where climbers can rest. Mountaineers then proceed to The Cornice Traverse, and finally onto The Hillary Step where only one climber can ascend or descend at a time. It is at this point, the lack of oxygen and extremely cold temperature clouds a climbers' reflex, judgment, decision skills making the Hillary Step one of the most challenging elements of the climb. On the summit day, you will start early morning and attempt to reach the summit before midday. Near the top of the world, you will observe examination and scientific equipment’s, prayer flags, and mementoes left by climbers. From the top you will see a breath-taking view of the majestic Himalayas beneath you. On top you’ll spend sometimes to capture breath-taking views beneath you and enjoying some beautiful moments, you’ll descend to camp IV through the same route. And then if time permits descend to camp III. Day 19/20: Camp III- Base Camp (alt. 5364m) After final summit, you’ll back to Base camp.
After successful summit of world’s highest peak Mount Everest, you’ll fly to Kathmandu by helicopter. You entire climbing crew will return later as they have to take out all the gears, equipments from Camp IV to base camp.
