Upon arrival at hotel, our tour manager will brief you about trekking information and other necessary information. And then you’ll free time to explore Kathmandu. Dinner will be booked at the hotel.
Early morning you’ll transfer to airport and you’ll make an early start to take a spectacular, short mountain flight to Lukla, the start point for our trek. During the flight you’ll see scenic views of Langtang, Jugal ranges, Rolwaling Himal, Gaurisankar and Menlumtse before getting your first glimpse of Everest. Upon arrival at Lukla airport you’ll meet trekking crew and you’ll spend a few minutes sorting out bags etc before setting off through this winding village to the trek start proper at the Khumbu ‘gateway’. It’s gently downhill on pitched stone trails through low rhododendron forest, small ‘garden’ farms and old and new hamlets to the banks of the foaming Dudh Koshi River. There will be plenty of short stops to meet the locals, take photographs and just soak up the scenery and the clear mountain air as we meander along, the undulating trail glimpsing views of 6000m snow-capped peaks high above. Passing the enormous Mani stone at Thado Koshi we meander up through the many Chortens and prayer wheels of Sano and along to our destination of Phakding in time for a late lunch.
After breakfast at lodge, you’ll start trekking through a beautiful pine forest that leads you along the Dudh Koshi River and Hillary Suspension Bridge to reach to Monjo and starting point of Sagarmatha National Park. Here you’ll stop at check post of TIMS & National Park permit. The trail passes through the Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi River, Jorsalle village, Large Dovan and cross one of the highest bridge over the Dudh Kosi River of Everest region and reach to Chautara from where we can see the first glimpse of the Mt. Everest. Further walking about one hour steep up we reach to Namche bazaar (maket). Namche Bazzar is known as ‘hearth of Khumbu’ which is one of the trading points for Sherpa people. It is also ideal market for visitors to purchase traditional crafts. Every Saturday there would be local street market, do not miss if you are there on Saturday.
Today is the schedule for acclimatization and explore around Namche Bazzar. After breakfast you’ll head toward Syangboche airport. Syanboche airport is known as world highest altitude airport. First of all, in the morning you’ll visit Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest photo Gallery, which is just 15-minute walking distance from Namche Bazzar. From the museum you can have the spectacular picturesque Mountain View and take some photographs. Then start trekking to Everest view hotel passing through Syangboche Airport which takes about 2 hours. You will climb further to reach Mt. Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Tawache, Kusum Kangkaru, Thamserku, Kongde and many more. Enjoy the spectacular view of mountains including Mt. Everest from the nearest destination then trek back to Namche Bazar.
After breakfast at Namche, you’ll begin your walk to Thame, which takes approximately 5 hours walk. You will pass through a beautiful pine forest and typically Sherpa homes. This trail forms part of the entry route to Tibet, which passes at Nanga La, near the 8,012-metre peak of Cho Oyu, first climbed in 1954. It is also the historical route that the Sherpa’s migrated from eastern Tibet 800 years ago. You’ll stop at Thamo for lunch and Thamo is the home Ang Rita Sherpa, who holds the record for scaling Mt Everest ten times without oxygen. After lunch you ascend gradually up passing a monastery where nuns live and finally you come to village of Samden. From here you descend down to the bridge and crossing BhoteKoshi River and a half an hour ascent up to reach Thame Village, where you stay lodge.
After breakfast at Thame, you’ll head towards Lungden. You’ll walk for about 4 hours through a stunning landscape on an old trade route to Tibet to the village of Lungden. This village has only one lodge and very aptly called the Renjo- La support Lodge.
After breakfast, you’ll start longest day of this trek. It will take about 4-4:30 hours to reach the Renjo Pass, going slow because of the high altitude. After a brief stopover to enjoy the stunning beauty of the Everest range and take photographs, we start on a remarkably difficult downhill journey for about 3 hours to reach the village of Gokyo walk along the stunning and beautiful Dudh Kunda (Milky Lake), splendid superb view of 4 mountains over 8,000 m & view of 360 degree.
After breakfast, Gokyo Ri looms above the village on the northern edge of the lake and we leave camp just after first light, following a steep path up the hillside. As you climb, the summits of Everest, Lhotse and Makalu slowly come into sight and the view from the summit of Gokyo Ri itself, is one of the finest to be had in the Everest region - some say it is even better than that from Kala Pattar. For those who still have some energy, there are more good views to be had by dropping back down to the main path and following it north to the fourth and fifth of the Gokyo lakes, the latter being about three hours from Gokyo.
After breakfast, you’ll we hike up to Gokyo Ri for the breathtaking view of splash a sunrise top of the mountain including Mt. Everest view and many more Himalayan scenery. This will be unforgettable life time memories and enjoy around the top. We have a great memories and stroll back an hours to Gokyo for breakfast. We trek down to Dragnag for the overnight passing through the second lake and walk on the glacier.
After breakfast you’ll start another quite tuff day of crossing the Cho-La because of thee high pass. The pass is not difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. After crossing the Cho-la we reach at Dzongla for overnight. Enjoy the fantastic view around the high above.
After breakfast, you’ll continue your trek along the moraine of the glacier, with views of Kalapathar and Pumori. You have good chances for the best view of Mt. Nuptse a front of you walking along the Gorekshep. The trail up to the Gorakshep is rocky and windy but it offers the good view of Pumori and there are beautiful views of the Everest Base camp and glacier with scenic Mountain View. You’ll enjoy the night at Gorakshep the higher elevation.
Earlier morning today as well, your journey continue climb to the top the famous viewpoint Kalapattar (5550m). After reaching the top, you will feel beaming as you achieve the moment that you been dreaming, since the beginning of the journey. Kalapathar is a small rocky peak on the southwest ridge of Mt. Pumori and the view from here is beyond imagination as the Everest looks amazing. You can also see the Everest Base camp down below on the moraine of Khumbu glacier and lot of picturesque scenery. After enjoying the panoramic views stroll back to Gorakshep and trek down to Lobuche.
Today, you will enjoy by crossing another Pass i.e Khongma Pass. The trip starts walking through Khumbu glacier towards east. After crossing the glacier and river the trail leads up to the pass which is the highest pass of this trip. There will be no tea shop and water resource so that you will have to carry few bottles of water to drink. After hard climb to the top, the trail drops steep down to the Chukung valley where your day ends. Stay overnight at the lodge.
After breakfast, Chhukung is also the starting point for the Island Peak Climbing. Now you are getting closer to the Himalayan civilization of the Khumbu Region. The Imja Khola joins the Dudh Koshi River a little above the Pangboche Village. There is a famous monastery at Pangboche believed to have been the oldest in the Khumbu region. From Pangboche, you’ll descend down the alpine desert and back into greenery of pine forests. The path leads to a steep uphill climb into Tengboche. We pay your visit to the famous Tengboche Monastery.
After breakfast with scenic view of Mount Amadablam in front, you’ll make a steep descent and the trail leads us back along the Dudh Kosi River. You’ll keep a lookout for wild life such as mountain goats, snow leopards, colorful pheasants while passing through the forest by the trail. After passing a Chorten, we reach the army camp at of Namche Bazaar where you want to take a long last look back to Lhotse, the tip of Everest and Tengboche. The final steep climb traverses the hill side taking you to Namche Bazaar. And then you’ll steep down to Monjo.
After breakfast at Monjo, trail descends steeply downward so you need to walk slowly and under control as our shaky legs continuously battle the rocky terrain. After crossing the suspension bridges over the fast flowing Dudh Koshi River and its tributaries the trail becomes more level and natural. Upon arrival in Lukla, you will stretch those sore legs and recall the experiences of the last couple of weeks. In the evening you’ll have last night with trekking crew.
Depending on your flight time, you’ll walk to Lukla after breakfast. Then you’ll take short flight to Kathmandu which takes about 35 minutes to reach Kathmandu. Upon arrival at Kathmandu, you’ll transfer to hotel. And then you’ll have free to relax at hotel or explore around Kathmandu valley.
Today is your last day in Nepal and you can relax at hotel or do souvenir shopping for your loved ones. Also you can visit world heritages sites of Nepal. There are seven world heritage sites in Kathmandu which are very beautiful, interesting and meaningful. You shouldn’t miss to visit them. You may contact our tour officer if you need any support for visiting those sites and its costs.

We spent 2 months in Nepal with 3 different treks and stays of several days in Kathmandu, Pokhara and Chitwan. In the Annapurna area we saw the hard life of the Nepali. We were fascinated by the beautiful hikes and the unique view of the 8,000 meter peaks of the Annapurna range. Then in the Khumbu area the big highlight, the crossing of the Chola Pass and the ascent of the Kalapathar with a view of Mt. We were accompanied on all treks by a competent, helpful and friendly guide and porter. We put the whole package together and booked it with Trekking Experts in April 2016. Trekking Experts has organized everything to our satisfaction (guides and porters, all transfers, hotel booking, flights). We were very well looked after by Dinesh Tamang.
