Itinerary

- From the airport, transfer and arrival to Kathmandu, at Vajra Hotel, a wonderful newari location with at the top the Great Pagoda Room with ceiling frescoes, a place of serenity and beauty overlooking the entire Kathmandu Valley Meeting with Barbara Grilli, Tour Leader, Buddhist Teacher and Founder of Shambhala Spirit; Manish Bashyal, the Hatha Yoga Teacher and Course Director of Himalayan Yoga Resort; Dinesh Tamang, Chief Executive Officer of Trekking Experts Pvt. Ltd - Personalization of the yoga personal practice - Lunch at the hotel - We leave for the first cultural visit to Bodhnath, the largest stupa in Asia, surrounded by a unique and magical atmosphere due to many elements: the Tibetan monks who make the kora, the Tibetan flags, the prayer mills, butter lamps , Tibetan drums and many visitors, Buddhist practitioners and non-practitioners. - - We go to visit Jamchen Lhakang, Sakya monastery with a large statue of Maitreya and continue to Guru Lhakhang which hosts a three-level statue of Guru Rinpoche. Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) contributed to the affirmation of Buddhism in Tibet. - After dinner: “Introduction to Buddhism”, a glimpse on the immense Buddhist universe

- Early morning, 6:30: yoga practice. Two hours of yoga practice at basically beginner-intermediate level but each practitioner will be followed personally according to his/her features. - After a regenerating breakfast we go to visit Swayambhunath, one of the architectural treasures of the Kathmandu Valley, with four iconic faces of the Buddha facing the four cardinal points. The whole structure is deeply symbolic. - Lunch outside and visit to Pashupatinath, the largest Hindu temple in Nepal which stands on the banks of the Bagmati River. This is the centerpiece of Hindu spiritual energy, closely related to Shiva in his manifestation of Pashupati. All around there is a swarming market of stalls with incense, malas, Hindu deities and various religious objects. - After dinner: Buddha’s Teachings on “Bodhisattva’s Path”, the Path to Enlightenment.

- Morning: two fresh hours of Yoga practice and following Buddhist Teachings: the core of Tibetan Buddhism: the 4 Noble Truths - Lunch outside - Full afternoon dedicated to the visit of Patan: splendid temples and palaces, counted among the most beautiful in Nepal, and themarvelous Durbar Square. We will also visit the precious Patan Museum and will get lost in the alleys behind Durbar Square full of small shops that produce Tangke and Tibetan bells and other objects of fine craftsmanship.

Morning: breakfast and departure for the stunning Bakhtapur. Among the three city-states of the Kathmandu Valley, Bakhtapur has always been the one with the best degree of conservation of its temples and palaces. Along its narrow alleys the craftsmen weave fabrics and chisel the wood while the locals gather in the courtyards for ritual ablutions. - Light lunch in Bakhtapur - Afternoon: back to Vajra hotel for yoga practice, two hours and Buddha’s Teachings: the Law of Karma.

Two morning hours of yoga practice, a wealthy breakfast and then we go as first to Kopan Monastery of Gelug tradition, by a short walk to listen to the morning prayers held by the monks. Probably we’ll also join a puja. Then we go to visit Khachoe Ghakyil Ling Nunnery, a branch of Kopan Monastery, which was born from Lama Yeshe and Lama Zopa Rinpoche's inspiration and kindness so we can take part to the daily life of these humble nuns. Later, having put our hiking shoes, we’ll venture to Sankhu with its hindu Vajrayogini Temple. We’ll meet many hindu statues along the path and a pilgrims refuge. Then we go to Pharping where making a kora (left clockwise) we can visit many monasteries, Guru Rinpoche’s cave and another Buddhist Vajrayogini temple. On the way back late afternoon, a delicious meal in Boudha after a long day's trek. Back to Vajra Hotel. Buddha’s Teachings: Kundalini and reincarnations.

Morning: yoga practice for two hours and breakfast and then we go to visit the most famous square of Kathmandu: Durbar Square which has been spoiled by the 2015 earthquake but luckely many buildings had been constructed again and the recostruction is started since long. So we’ll visit Shiva and Parvati Temple, Kumari Bahal, the residence of the child choosen as living goddess and symbol of the Devi, Hanuman Doka, Maha Vishnu Mandir/Temple, Kala Bhairav and other palaces all around. - Then in the afternoon free time to visit stunning libraries and traditional shops in Thamel and relax. - Dinner at Vajra Hotel and Buddha’s Teachings: This unbelievable precious life: Meditation on death.

We don't practice asanas this morning! After breakfast we head to the Namo Buddha stupa, one of the most important Buddhist pilgrimage sites and we visit Thrangu Tashi Choling Monastery. Then we reach Namo Buddha Resort with charming luxury cottages with stone walls and slate roofs and views of the Himalayas. All around is a place of power for spiritual practice and retreat. We will arrive late in the morning in the resort and after lunch you will have time to settle in your cottage and enjoy the view. Before dinner:two hours yoga practice and Buddhist Teachings: Heart Sutra.

After a bountiful breakfast, we start early in the morning trekking to Paunati, one of the oldest places in Nepal in a 4 hours trek where we follow small paths, mainly downhill, passing through orange groves, terraced fields and beautiful villages to reach Panauti. Here you will see most of Newari's culture and Hindu temples. Then we go back to Namo Buddha resort for lunch. Rest and yoga practice in the afternoon, followed by Buddhist Teachings: Become your own therapist by Lama Yeshe.

Yoga morning practice and breakfast looking the hills.
