4 times Guinness Book of Records holder and 16 times Everest summiteer Pemba Dorje Sherpa has brought the portrait of late king Prithvi Narayan Shah with Nepal’s flag and Nepal army flag to the top of Mount Everest on 20th May 2017. In association of Rukmangad Katwal Trust and Sherpa Shepherds, the portrait of Prithvi Narayan Shah has been brought to top of Mount Everest to convey message the message of unity in the world.
Rukmangad Katwal Trust has organized a press conference on 25th June 2017 at Nepalese Army Officer’s Club, Kathmandu to. Chief of Nepalese Army general Rajendra Chhetri has officially received the portrait of Prithvi Narayan Shah with Nepal and Nepal Army’s flag presented by Sherpa Shepherds team and Pemba Dorje Sherpa. As chief guest of the press conference, chief Chhetri has appreciated the Pemba’s this historic job and has committed to keep Nepal united and undivided as per constitution of Nepal. He also added Nepal Army won’t allow anyone to separate the country and will keep as it is left by late king Shah.
Chairman of Rukmagad Katwal Trust and ex-chief of Nepal Army general Rukmangad Katwal praised the work of Pemba Dorje Sherpa and Sherpa Shepherds team. On this occasion, Chief Guest Chhetri and chairman Katwal has awarded Pemba Dorje Sherpa and Sherpa Shepherds with certificated of appreciation and token of love. Well known as ‘snow leopard’ Ang Rita Sherpa is also honored with token of love by Trust and Sherpa Shepherds at the same time Guinness Book of World Records has been handed to Ang Rita Sherpa by chief guest. Many mountaineer legends such as Kami Rita Sherpa, Phurba Tenjen Sherpa, Temba Chhiri Sherpa, Kanchhi Maya Tamang, Maya Gurung, Thaneswar Guragain, Dinesh Tamang were honored with token of love from both Trust and Sherpa Shepherds.
Sherpa Shepherds team announced that the team led by Pemba Dorje Sherpa would attempt to climb world highest peak next spring season with a statue of late kind Shah. Pemba has scaled the peak with status of Lord Buddha in 2009. ‘” I have plan to place the Shah’s statue on the top of Mount Everest next season. We should not forget Buddha, Everest and Prithvi Narayan Shas, these are gems” Pemba said.
